[Digistorytellers] JOB: Chicago local editor needed

Edit Creations, a small but growing boutique post house in Burr Ridge  
(a 25 minute drive
from downtown Chicago off of I-55) is looking for a full time FCP  
editor. All applicants
should have at least 5 years of work experience and should be highly  
skilled at FCP and
the supporting suite of apps, including LiveType, Motion, Compressor  
and DVDSP. Being
Apple certified on FCP is a big plus but not required. You must also  
have experience with
Photoshop and AfterEffects. Editors with a strong background in  
graphic design and
compositing will be considered first.

In addition to knowing the right tools, you should have broad  
experience cutting a variety
of different projects. You should also be familiar with different  
styles of editing. Our
projects are generally long form and include broadcast, corporate,  
promotional,
documentaries, and sales videos. We are not a spot house, but we do  
the occasional spot
or PSA.

Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You should be able to work  
with a variety of
different clients, know how to handle difficult and stressful  
situations without losing your
cool, and work well with others in the office. Great personality,  
sense of humor and an
easy-going nature are all plusses. Having a sense of pride in every  
job that you do is a
must.

We're looking for editors that are also collaborative, who can work  
with a producer to help
determine the look, feel, pace, style etc. on any given project. We  
want creative, solution
based, innovative editors, not just button pushers.
