[Digistorytellers] Can you make a suggestion for a new MAC NLE System?

Greetings,

 

I am considering purchasing a new Mac and I don't know where to start.  I currently have a G4 733 with four media drives. I edit film trailers, short films and promos with FCP and burn my DVD film projects with iDVD.  I want to use the new system to produce higher quality short films for the web and film festivals. 

 

Can someone please give me some advice on the different types of configurations for a new FCP NLE station?

 

Are there any capture and playback cards I will need to purchase?

 

What type of hard drives are recommended internal, external or an external raid?

 

Which software bundles will I need?

 

I appreciate any feedback.
